Beauty 4 ur ashes
About Sheri Durricks
I grew up in Philadelphia, witnessing much gang activity, drug use, and violence. I currently reside in Sicklerville, New Jersey, where I founded Beauty4urashes, and work as a licensed therapist for those addicted to drugs and alcohol. During the course of my more than 20 years in my field, I have mentored, coached, and empowered, young ladies and women of all cultures. These women have experienced many types of trauma in the form of sexual assault, domestic violence, psychological abuse, self-abuse, and other traumatic events. As a result of working with this population, a women’s group was formed to assist women who experienced all types of trauma with tools, resources and life skills.
Academics
I am also a recovery mentor for women who are addicted to heroin and other substances. I received my Masters Degree at Lincoln University for Human Services and Counseling, and am currently enrolled at Walden University pursing a PhD for Human Services with a specialization in Social Policy Analysis and Planning.
I was recently inducted into the Tau Upsilon Alpha- Alpha Chi Chapter in recognition of academic and professional excellence in human services. In addition, I am a certified domestic violence and sexual assault specialist.
